Antique Tiger Maple Blanket Chest

An antique tiger maple blanket chest, mid 19th century. The paneled case features a rectangular, hinged lid with applied edge molding opening to a vacant interior. It rises on short, ring-turned legs.

Condition

- lid with some stains, with a slightly higher concentration along back edge; hinges have been replaced and reset with a crack near left mount and a loss near the other; applied, lateral edge molding of lid with slight separations near front corners; block above front, left foot with minor/former pest damage (worming); other scratches, nicks, and marks as would be expected with age and use.
