Antique (In Part) Cherry Jackson Press with Custom-Made Base
Item Details
An antique (in part) cherry Jackson press with a custom-made base. The case features an upper section, dating to the nineteenth century, with a projecting cornice above two double-paneled doors concealing a three-shelf interior. The later, custom-made lower section is in the Empire style. It has a rectangular top and paneled sides with two aligned, machine-dovetailed, frieze drawers outset over two paneled doors. The doors are flanked by a pair of fully-turned, colonettes and they open to a two-shelf interior. The whole piece rises on turned, tapered feet.
