Vintage Power-Loomed Belgian "Kashimar" Wool Room Sized Rug by Couristan
Item Details
A vintage Kashimar wool room sized rug by Couristan. This rug is rendered in a palette of powder blue, ivory, gold, pale yellow, and indigo. The over-populated powder blue colored field begins with an ogee pendant medallion while featuring an ornately designed floral theme throughout. There are also curvilinear edged spandrels infilled with a round medallion, and an abundance of blooms. The floral and foliate theme flows through the main, guard, and minor borders. Finishing this rug are serged edges and an applied fringe to the ends. It is labeled ‘Power Loomed in Belgium’.
