A decorative Chinese hand painted paper fan on lacquered bamboo. The image on the leaves depicts two women both thought to be Guanyin atop a dragon against a vibrant gold ground. The fan is constructed of wood with paper overlay. It is marked ‘Made in China’.

Condition

- some accretions and discoloration to image; abrasions to areas of image; some tears and loss to edging along upper edge of image; velcro adhered to verso of fan and to edge of guard at left; “Made in China” sticker to guard at left; minor wear to guards and sticks.
