A base metal sculpture after Guillaume Coustou the Elder (1677-1746). This work depicts a horse rearing on its hind legs and it’s handler holding onto the reins. The piece is rendered in gold and silver tone base metal on a marble base. The piece is not marked by maker.

Condition

- left foot of the man figure is missing a post that connects it to the metal base; scratches to sculpture and base; some accretion to sculpture.
