A diorama shadowbox titled The Organ Grinder by American artist Narcissa Niblack Thorne (1882-1966). The work includes sculpted children and a mustachioed organ grinder holding a monkey within a hand-painted European scene. It is presented in a wood shadowbox and under glass and is marked to a brass plaque at the top of the frame ‘The Organ Grinder, Narcissa Thorne, Mrs. James Ward Thorne, 1960’.
