A graphite drawing on paper by listed artist Edgar Yaeger (American; 1904-1997), dated 1930. This drawing depicts a forested landscape comprised of intricate delineations and shading, reminiscent of post-impressionist landscapes. The work is signed and dated to the lower right. This piece is presented matted and sealed in acetate.

Known for his modern abstract style and his WPA murals of the Depression era, Yaeger was influenced by European modernists such as Paul Cézanne, Pablo Picasso and Giorgio de Chirico. Yaeger’s work has been exhibited at many institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the Detroit Institute of Art, the Corcoran Gallery, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, among others.
