A hand-knotted Indo-Persian Bijar wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of sapphire, crimson, sky blue, salmon, cranberry, taupe, teal, ivory, and gold. The sapphire colored field features a dense ornately designed herati pattern, while framed in an unresolved crimson grounded main samovar border. There are also a pair of carnation meander guard borders, as well as a pair of star and square patterned guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton kilim skirt with cotton warp fringe to the ends. This rug is unlabeled.
