A hand-painted French Sampson porcelain decorative apothecary jar. The armorial piece features a shield crest flanked by griffins over the Latin phrase ‘Sperabo’ (I will hope) surrounded by floral sprays, raised white scrolls, and gilt foliate borders. The piece is signed ‘made in France’ to the underside with a pictorial maker’s mark.
