Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Indo-Persian area rug. This Persian Tabriz-style wool pile rug is rendered in a palette of cobalt, cornflower, mauve, blush, emerald, pine, umber, and ivory and centered with a floral and foliate medallion. The ivory field is densely populated with floral racemes, arabesqued vines, and stylized palmettes, and framed with compound carnation meander guard borders. The primary border features feathery lancet leaves and flowers over deep indigo. It is finished with a short kilim skirt, overcast selvedges, and cotton warp fringe. The rug is unlabeled.
