Vintage Louis XV Style Brass-Mounted Kingwood and Parquetry Bombé Commode

A vintage Louis XV style brass-mounted Kingwood and parquetry bombé commode. The case features a rouge-marble, serpentine-front top with three-quarter, molded edges above two aligned over two long drawers. The crossbanded and string-inlaid drawer fronts are fitted with brass, scrolled-foliate escutcheons and handles flanked by outset stiles with figural mounts above and below the knees. The stiles continue to flared legs with sabots centered by a shaped and brass-mounted, front skirt. The commode is unmarked by the maker.

- to fair; marble top with a tiny chip to back, right corner; case with some minor veneer chips/repairs; minor scuffs to feet; drawers retain interior lock plates, however key has a broken tip and does not work.
