Early 20th Century Jacobean Style Carved Walnut Court Cupboard
Item Details
An early 20th century Jacobean style carved walnut court cupboard. The ornate, large-scale case features a molded cornice above a relief-carved frieze with grape bunches and leafy vines. Directly below is a central, paneled door flanked by canted sides, each with a floral-carved medallion, behind a pair of turned, urn-form supports. The door opens to a vacant interior and the mid molding is further embellished with floral and fan carvings. The cupboard rises on a second pair of urn-turned columns in the front and square, stile legs in the back, all of which terminate in a rectangular, plinth base. It is unmarked by the maker.
