19th Century Seth Thomas Rosewood and Walnut Wall Clock and Calendar
Item Details
A late 19th century Seth Thomas rosewood and walnut wall clock and calendar. The case is walnut and rosewood veneer creating a beautiful striped design with the grains of wood. The case features a molded top with a hinged wood door with two circular wood frames surrounding glass panels that display the clock and the calendar on white painted metal dials surrounded by brass bezels. The clock sits on the top and features black Roman numerals, two brass key arbors and metal spade hands. The calendar has a circular dial displaying 31 days in black Arabic numbers with a black crescent hand and a day and date on either side of the center. Other features of the clock and calendar include an 8-day time and stike movement with a calendar movement, a brass winding key , the original label with directions and the clock stands on a plinth style base. The clock is marked ‘Seth Thomas’ on the label.
