A group of two German porcelain plates. Offered is a Goebel plate decorated with a Konisberg coat of arms design on a cream ground with black trim. It is accompanied with a plate featuring a transferred image of Duke of Lauenburg, Otto von Bismark. The image is accented with a laurel wreath and black lettering that translates to ‘Thee only thing in the world we Germans fear is God’. It is presented on a white glazed ground with embossed borders accented with gilt foliate trim to the scalloped rims. There are no discernible maker’s marks noted for this piece.
