Hand-Knotted Persian Sarouk Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Sarouk area rug. This rug is woven in a palette of crimson, pale yellow, pink, sky blue, navy, orange, and sage green. It features a floral field with a small center medallion and a symmetrical composition of palmettes, flowers, and lancet leaves in a crimson ground. The field is surrounded by a primary border of a seraband style floral motif with guard borders of boteh and carnation meanders. It is finished with overcast selvedges, a short fringe on one end, and a bound kilim skirt on the other. It is unmarked.
