MVT Mineral Specimens

A collection of MVT mineral specimens. This collection of six mineral specimens typical of Mississippi Valley type (MVT) carbonate hosted ore bodies features a specimen of the calcium magnesium carbonate mineral dolomite that displays pink rhombohedral crystals with associated pyrite crystals. Also included is a specimen of the mineral calcite that displays a trigonal crystal habit collected from the Fletcher Mine in Missouri, pyrite specimens that display a cubic crystal habit collected at Lake Kanopolis, Kansas and the Brushy Creek Mine in Missouri, galena specimens that display a cubic crystal habit collected at Joplin, Missouri and a purple and yellow fluorite specimen collected at the Annabel Lee Mine in Cave In Rock, Illinois.
