Finely Hand-Knotted Persian Tabriz Wool Room Sized Rug
Item Details
A finely hand-knotted Persian Tabriz wool room sized rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of rose, ivory, sky blue, aqua, mauve, black, wheat, terracotta, and teal. The rose colored field is ornately designed and it begins with a star shaped pendant medallion infilled with an array of floral and palmette motifs. The field also features intricate vine-work with blossoms and palmettes, as well as ivory and blue hued grounded spandels infilled with vines and curled leaf motifs. Framing the field is a main ivory grounded border patterned with palmettes enclosed with floral wreaths and foliate motifs, as well as meandering leaf guard borders, and stylized curled leaf guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton kilim skirt with cotton warp fringe to the ends. This rug is unlabeled.
