Vintage Hand-Knotted Turkish "Floating Medallion" Area Rug
Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Turkish area rug. This short-pile wool rug is rendered in a palette of camel, midnight blue, vermillion, taupe, rose and cream. It begins with an oblong floral medallion grounded in midnight blue. The medallion floats over an open, camel-colored field with deep midnight blue spandrels filled with stlyized trees, florets and abstract motifs. Framing the field are seven borders grounded in camel or cream, featuring floral-meander and running water patterns. Selvedges are flat and triple overcast, the rug finishing at each end with short cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
