A limited edition lithograph on paper titled Probe by American artist Milton Weiss (1912-1995), created in 1971. This black and white work features three horizontal registers of various simplistic illustrations including a grid of dots, intersecting diagonal lines, a sphere, and angular shapes. The work is signed by hand in graphite to the lower right; it is numbered 2 out of an edition of 8 to the lower center and titled and dated to the lower left. The work remains unmounted and unframed.

Milton G. Weiss was an active artist in the Pittsburgh community for many years. He studied at the Irene Kaufmann Settlement with Sam Rosenberg and also spent a year at the Art Students League in New York. Weiss was employed as a WPA artist in Pittsburgh and a member of the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh. He taught at Ivy School of Professional Art and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.
