A mixed media collage on canvas board by American artist Jeff Zets (b. 1963). Comprised of cut paper and canvas fragments, this work is based off Margaret Bourke-White’s iconic 1937 photograph World’s Highest Standard of Living. The composition is not signed and remains unframed.
Jeff and his brother Mark are twin artists known for their collages expressing contemporary racial and social themes, exhibiting the influence of Romare Bearden. Mostly self-taught, the artists grew up in Fredericktown, PA, taking occasional art classes “for fun”. Members of the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh Society of Artists, they have exhibited their work at various local venues including The Blue Sky Gallery, Mendelson Gallery, and the Three Rivers Arts Festival Gallery, among others.
