This work features various tableware including a bowl, a bottle, and a pipe rendered in bold outlines, vibrant colors, and distorted perspective. It is signed and dated to the lower left and remains unframed.

Known for his modern abstract style and his WPA murals of the Depression era, Edgar Yaeger was influenced by European modernists such as Paul Cézanne, Pablo Picasso, and Giorgio de Chirico. Yaeger’s work has been exhibited at many institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the Detroit Institute of Art, the Corcoran Gallery, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, among others.
