Hand-Knotted Turkish Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Turkish wool area rug. The rug has been worked in a muted abrashed palette of maize, peach, gray, robin’s egg blue, tangerine, indigo, black, ivory, and salmon. A large oval floral pendant medallion rests in the salmon field and stylized floral and vine garlands are placed in the corners. The unresolved border features a leaf, vine, and quatrefoil floral design. The selvedges have been overcast and the ends have short cotton fringe. The rug is not marked.
