An oil painting on canvas titled Heidelberg Castle by listed artist Henry Fritz (German-American; 1875 – 1956). The work depicts the Heidelberg Castle in Germany as seen across the Alte Brücke over the Nekrar river. The piece is rendered in an Impressionistic style. It is hand signed to the lower right and titled on the verso. It is presented unframed.

Henry Fritz was born in 1875 in Lubben, Germany. He attended Cooper Union Art School in New York City, as well as Columbia University, New York University, the National Academy of Design, the Society of Beaux-Arts Architects and the Arts Student League. During his lifetime his work was exhibited in New York City, Westchester County, NY, Sarasota, FL, Philadelphia, PA, Chestertown, MD and Boone, NC. Two of his watercolors are in the permanent collection of the Gibbs Museum in Charleston, SC.

Sold to benefit the education and housing needs of children in the Tamani Kenya orphanage in conjunction with the non-profit, the Tamani World Children Project.

- nicks and abrasions to edges of canvas with some paint loss.
