A hand-knotted Persian Tabriz Mahi wool and silk area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of indigo, ivory, coral, powder blue, celadon, olive, magenta, sand, pine, and saffron. The field features an intricately designed herati pattern that flows through the layered pendant medallion, that coordinates with the ivory and coral colored spandrels, while grounded by an indigo hued lozenged field with lancet leaf edges. Framing the field is a stylized herati main border with added leaf and blossom motifs, as well as multiple floral meander guard and minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a silk warp fringe to the ends.
