Vintage Hand-Knotted Tribal Wool Runner

A vintage hand-knotted tribal wool runner. The cobalt blue rectangular center field is populated with five medallions, with the main center medallion in a rectangular form with white serrated forms to each side and to the center a pair of cruciform shapes flanked by wide borders composed of various perepedil motifs. To each side are medallions with red diamond centers and to each end of the runner are medallions featuring orange and red serrated designs. The runner has a major calyx border with narrow guard stripes in red, blue and green. The runner is bound on the sides and finished to one end with a woven warp selvedge with long dark cream fringe.
