after Cincinnati artist Henry F. Farny. The original painting hangs in the Taft Art Collection. An expressive piece depicting a lone Native American with his ear against a telegraph pole, he listens in the hope of catching the words of the mysterious voice traveling overhead, as the wind whistles through the wires.
Signed to plate, dated 1904. Housed in neutral matte in wood frame.
