Vintage Hand-Knotted Southwest Persian Qashqai Style Area Rug
Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Southwest Persian area rug. This Qashqai-style wool pile rug is rendered in an abrashed palette of madder red, teal, umber, indigo, tangerine, and ivory and centered with a hexagonal medallion. The lozenge field is populated with chains of rosettes, spangles, and grounded by indigo spandrels, each corner featuring a medallion alongside peacocks and rosettes. Compound guard borders flank a primary border comprised of a geometric herati pattern over ivory. The rug is finished with overcast barber pole selvedges and goat hair warp fringe that has been reinforced. It is unlabeled.
