A circa 1933 William Spratling modernist salad serving set in hand wrought sterling silver and wooden handles. Both pieces are hallmarked to the back of the handle ‘Taxco, 925’ with thw ‘WS’ initials used by the artist between the years 1933-1938.

William Spratling (Mexico, 1900-1967) is known as the founder of the Mexican modernist movement. He was inspired by both Art Deco aesthetics and Pre-Columbian influences. His work is widely coveted and collected.

- faint markings throughout, one wooden handle has a bit of the wood missing at the edge
