A hand-knotted Persian Nain wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of ivory, powder blue, sky blue, ecru, indigo, mocha, walnut, teal, rose, and wine. The ivory colored field begins with a layered round pendant medallion with an ornate floral theme that coordinates with the spandrels. The field also features an array of floral bouquets, connected with purling vine-work of lancette leaves. Framing the field is an ecru grounded main border that notches into the guard borders, while featuring palmettes, and blossoms with radiating leaves and vines. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a fine cotton warp fringe to the ends, as well as vinyl bands sewn to the underside edges. This rug is labeled ‘Hand Woven in Iran’.
