Finely Hand-Knotted Sino-Persian Wool and Silk Area Rug
Item Details
A finely hand-knotted Sino-Persian wool and silk area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of ivory, salmon, indigo, silver-sage, slate blue, olive, walnut, mocha, and wheat. The ivory colored field begins with a round lobed medallion, with coordinating spandrels in a floral theme grounded in salmon and silver-sage. The field also features a number of birds atop flower filled vases, with larger ones to each end, along with a dense pattern of curled flowering vines, floral sprays, and other blooms. Framing the field is an indigo grounded main border designed with floral arrangements, and birds, forming a herati style pattern. There are also two styles of floral meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. This rug is labeled ‘Genuine Hand Woven Oriental Rug’.
