"Priscacara" Fossil Fish Specimen

A Priscacara fossil fish specimen. This specimen of the middle Eocene fossil fish genus Priscacara, an extinct genus of perch, displays the jaw structure, eye location, caudal, dorsal and anal fins with the pelvic and pectoral fins compressed against the body and the vertebral column of the fish. The fossil is preserved in a buff colored fine grained lake sediment. The specimen was collected from the Green River Formation in Kemmerer, Wyoming. The piece is presented in a wooden frame with an informational note card to the front. It is ready to hang with a wire to the verso.
