Finely Hand-Knotted Afghani Isfahan Silk and Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A finely hand-knotted Afghani Isfahan wool and silk area rug, made with vegetables dyes. This rug is rendered in a palette of cranberry, indigo, ivory, powder blue, wheat, taupe, and sepia. The cranberry colored field features an all-over design of scrolling vine-work with palmettes, blooms, and lancet leaves. Framing the field is a main indigo grounded herati border with exaggerated leaves, as well as floral designed guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a fine silk warp fringe to the ends. It is labeled to the underside.
