Hand-Knotted Persian Tabriz "Afshan" Wool Room Sized Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Tabriz wool room sized rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of ivory, indigo, powder blue, wheat, cranberry, mauve, mocha, and sky blue. The ivory colored field features a dense afshan design featuring an array of serrated leaves, palmettes, and small blossoms. Framing the field is an indigo grounded main stylized herati border, along with a number of floral meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton kilim skirt with cotton warp fringe to the ends. This rug is labeled ‘Genuine Hand Woven Oriental Rug’.
