A hand-knotted Persian Isfahan accent rug. This silk or silk and wool pile rug is rendered in a palette of mulberry, cornflower, indigo, burnt orange, olive, camel, and eggshell and features a circular medallion infilled with floral motifs. The lozenge field is densely populated with Shah Abbasi palmettes and purling vines over egghsell and grounded by ornate corner spandrels. It is framed by a pair of floral meander guard borders, while the primary border displays a stylized herati design comprised of oversized Shah Abbasi palmettes over camel. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges, a short kilim skirt, and silk warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
