A finely hand-knotted Persian Isfahan wool and silk accent rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of powder blue, sage, madder red, taupe, indigo, sky blue, ivory, hunter, wine, olive, clementine, and aqua. The field features a kaleidoscope design beginning with a central star shaped medallion that radiates to angular forms each infilled with intricate floral motifs, vine-work, or colorful birds. Framing the field is a main star paneled border that breaks over the purling vine-work designed guard borders, while featuring an array of floral motifs and birds. There is an inscription to one end, and it finishes with overcast selvedges and a silk kilim skirt with silk warp fringe to the ends. This rug is labeled ‘Genuine Hand Woven Oriental Rug’.
