Finely Hand-Knotted Inscribed Persian Isfahan Wool And Silk Accent Rug
Item Details
A finely hand-knotted Persian Isfahan wool and silk accent rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of ivory, camel, sand, rust, slate blue, and wine. The ivory colored field begins with a star shaped pendant medallion, with coordinating spandrels grounded in camel, and sand with an overall floral and foliate theme. The field also features intricately detailed purling vine-work of flowers, palmettes, and leaves. Framing the field is a main camel grounded stylized herati border with added blossoms, as well as ornate floral meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a silk kilim skirt with a knotted inscription to one end, along with silk warp fringe to the ends. This rug is unlabeled.
