A finely hand-knotted Turkish Hereke silk accent rug by Golriz Carpets. This rug is rendered in a palette of sapphire, clementine, cranberry, ivory, rose, fern, sky blue, walnut, peach, cornsilk, and celadon. The sapphire colored lozenged field features a radiating floral spray design beginning with a central rosette and palmettes. The over-populated lozenge is enclosed by clementine grounded spandrels each infilled with a palmette with branched floral and foliate motifs. Framing the field is a main cranberry hued border featuring a stylized herati design with added branched flowers, as well as floral meander guard borders, and linked minor borders. Finishing this rug are triple overcast selvedges and a fine silk warp fringe to the ends. This rug is labeled ‘Golreez’, ‘Genuine Hand Woven Oriental Rug’.
