Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian accent rug, attributed to the Kashan region. This wool pile rug is rendered in a palette of crimson, cerulean, blush, goldenrod, emerald, sapphire, camel, and eggshell and centered with an ogival pendant medallion. The curvilinear field is populated with clusters of floral blooms and grounded by ivory spandrels infilled with shamrocks and arabesqued foliage ending in flower heads. It is framed by compound guard borders, which flank a wide primary border comprised of floral motifs over sapphire. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges that have been reinforced and wool warp fringe knotted into a lattice pattern. It is unlabeled.
