Hand-Knotted Sino-Persian Carved Silk Accent Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Sino-Persian carved silk accent rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of cream, pine, cornsilk, walnut, sepia, black, sapphire, apricot, powder blue, mocha, and sage. The sculpted cream colored field begins with a central medallion infilled with flowering vines, while featuring scrolling palmette vine-work with added blooms and lancette leaves. The field is enclosed by sapphire grounded spandrels, and framed by a main cornsilk grounded border designed with a stylized herati pattern with added cloud band motifs. There are also a pair of floral meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a fine silk warp fringe to the ends. This rug is labeled ‘Chinese’.
