Substantial Wrought Iron Display Cage

Item Details

A large display cage. The piece features a decorative square floor-standing birdcage made of wrought iron, with a black painted finish. The front and back of the cage has two decorative scrolling medallions, and side of this decorative cage has two hinged doors with a latching built-in hooks on the side. The top is domed with a large handle at the top, and is affixed to four scrolling metal skirts. The piece has no discernible maker’s marks.

Condition

- some rust, light chipping and denting, especially to the apron/feet and bottom panel; consistent with age and outdoor use.
- bottom cage door has a bent hook.
