Hand-Knotted Indo-Persian Carpet Runner
Item Details
A hand-knotted Indo-Persian carpet runner. This wool rug is rendered in an abrashed palette of onyx, mustard, cornsilk, celadon and rose. It features an allover curvilinear herati pattern incorporating shah abbasi palmettes, cloudband motifs, flowers, foliates and vines over an onyx field. The field is framed by four borders, including a herati primary border grounded in mustard, featuring meandering palmettes. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with decoratively knotted ivory cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
