A hand-knotted Turkish wool long rug. This wool long rug is rendered in a palette of cream, vermillion, mustard, pale celadon and blush, with prominent mocha highlights. It begins with an oval center section grounded in cream and filled with rectilinear motifs, over a vermillion field, the ends and corners of which are filled with stylized floral and foliate motifs. The field is framed by three wraparound borders grounded in cream, celadon and bush, featuring floral and geometric patterns. Selvedges are double overcast, the rug finishing at each end with short cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
