Item Details
A hand-knotted Anatolian wool carpet runner. This rug is rendered in a palette of clementine, ivory, sapphire, sepia, and cornsilk. The ivory colored field begins with two hexagonal lozenges each infilled with a vertical element featuring branched palmettes, and small floral motifs. The ivory ground also features hooked forms with a central band of animal head motifs that flows into the leaf and blossom guard border. Framing the field as a whole is a sepia grounded main border with rectilinear shaped leaf and floral motifs. Finishing this rug are double overcast selvedges and short wool warp fringe to the ends. This rug is unlabeled.
