Hand-Knotted Northwest Persian Carpet Runner
Item Details
A hand-knotted Northwest Persian wool carpet runner. This rug is rendered in a palette of crimson, white, azure, clementine, rose, and wheat. The field features a triple medallion design with rectangular forms that end in hooks, while infilled with star and floral motifs. The medallions are framed in a Hamadan border, along with small boxes. Framing the field is a main two-petal calyx border over wheat, as well as another Hamadan guard border. Finishing this rug are double overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. This rug is unlabeled.
