A 1985 reverse acrylic painting on plexiglass titled Circles and Squares by contemporary Cincinnati artist Evelyn L. Liner. The painting features a series of gridded squares and circles painted in a rainbow of bright shades. The work is signed and dated in black to the lower left corner and is signed, titled and dated to the verso. It is unframed. The verso is coated with a treated paper for protection.
Evelyn L. Liner received her artistic training from the University of Cincinnati. Liner typically creates reverse glass paintings, rendered in vibrant colors. Her work has been accepted into a number of juried shows including the Bluegrass Open in Louisville, Kentucky, Summerfair, Cincinnati, Ohio, and the Dayton Museum Gallery Show. Along with juried shows, Liner’s work has been on display at several Cincinnati area institutions such as: Closson’s Gallery; Miller Gallery; and Malton Gallery.
