Item Details
A semi-antique hand-knotted Persian wool area rug. The rectangular carpet has been rendered in abrashed shades of indigo, ivory, camel, wine, and salmon. A pendant diamond hooked medallion is surrounded by densely placed herati, pinwheels, boteh, leaves, geometric shapes, and flowers. The minor borders are infilled with poppy meanders while the unresolved primary border features abstract geometric floral motifs. The selvedges have been mechanically serged to stabilize them. The ends have frays and fringe. The carpet is not marked.
