A vintage handwoven pictorial tapestry. This piece depicts a Classically styled procession scene in which a woman, possibly a representation of the Greek goddess Cybele, Roman Magna Mater, is riding a chariot pulled by lions and surrounded by an entourage of other women and cherubic figures as they ride through the forest. A smaller group of men are gathered to the left, looking on. It is surrounded with a floral border and overcast edges, with hidden warp finishing.
