Antique Hand-Knotted Persian Hamadan Area Rug
Item Details
An antique Persian Hamadan area rug. This wool rug is hand knotted in a faded palette of mocha, azure, cream, rose and orange. It features a large-scale, exuberant herati pattern incorporating four human figures and two vases and bouquets, as well as traditional herati palmettes, flowers, leaves and vines, over a mocha field. The field is framed by two meandering-carnation minor borders over cream and a primary border featuring botehs and rosettes over rose. Selvedges are overcast.
