A gouache painting on paper titled Highlander, 1850 and initialed ‘R.C.’ This piece depicts a Scottish man in uniform with a kilt and feather bonnet, leaning on a long rifle. It is initialed and dated ‘50’ to the lower left. A handwritten inscription to the lower left on the mount notes ‘uniform inaccurate’ and lists the title. The piece is presented unframed in a French mat.

Condition

- image paper and mat are discolored, dirty and stained; nicks and kinks around outside edges of image paper; corner edges are bent.
