A pair of vintage carved wood busts by well-listed Swiss artist Hans Huggler-Wyss (1877 – 1947). These pieces present an elderly man and woman wearing headscarves, with realistic features and amused expressions. Each piece has a painted finish and is presented on a rectangular pedestal base. The artist’s mark is stamped to the underside of each.

Condition

- discoloration to red scarf particularly to the verso; some surface wear and abrasions to both sculptures; seam visible on female sculpture, particularly to shoulders and scarf.
